The original Alternative Pickguards are made of a 20 mil thick super tough vinyl, machine cut to exact specifications. They are; resilient and can be used over again many times; tough will not tear or scratch yet can be cut with ordinary scissors; flexible so they can conform to any smooth surface be it flat top or arch top; reversible, will fit either right or left handed guitars; clear to show any grain or inlay right through and are almost invisible when installed. Alternative Pickguards work by suction rather than adhesives or fasteners and will stay on as long as you are playing, no matter what your playing style. They can be removed while not in use and replaced when you want protection while playing. They will not work properly with satin finishes, surface must be gloss finished. *NOTE: Not for use on nitro cellulose finishes Such as on Martin Guitars damage could result.
